The European Club for Countertrade and Offset (ECCO) aims to create an international platform to share information and best practices in the field of offsets and countertrade activities. As a result, its activities are based on three pillars:
Through its events, ECCO enables networking among its members as well as exchanges of best practices thanks to its “forums”.
ECCO aims at becoming a reliable platform of information and reflexion on offsets and associated stakes such as government procurement, international trade or economic and industrial development. This dimension is embodied through ECCO’s “workshops” and committees.
One of ECCO’s objects is the training of its members with the objective of increasing their awareness of the challenges encountered by the profession, teaching them how to use such mechanisms with a prospect of improving productivity, competitiveness, and reducing risks.
Although interacting with governmental authorities and international institutions in order to reach its objectives, ECCO is not an interest group and does not aim to encourage offset demands or practices directly or indirectly in any way. Such interactions are limited to the extent necessary to the exchange of information regarding current offset policies and practices.
